Lately, I haven't been posting much Odyssey news, but when I saw this picture just like two minutes ago, I knew I had to post it:
Isn't that like the best art from Gary Locke ever?! I love it! It makes me want to get the book, just so I can hold it in my hands! Oh, it's so cool!!
Now, I have been somewhat disappointed at the emphasis in recent artwork on these four main characters, but I think the action in the picture is so good that it makes up for the use of the usual characters yet again.
What are your thoughts?
It's a good picture, but those are (in my opinion) bad drawings of the characters. He seems to have begun to draw them in a more loose, animated way, instead of the more realistic way he had been drawing them. I agree about the four main characters too, how did Wooton get added in anyway? They used to have Whit, Connie, and Eugene on everything, but starting with Album 51, they've added Wooton to that bunch. I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Eugene's expression isn't very realistic and looks more animated, but I think that's what makes this picture look unusually cool.
ReplyDeleteAs to the Wooton being added thing, I think it's because he got a new illustration around the same time the others did. Before he was always a guy with something hiding his face, but now that we know what he looks like we get to see him all the time. It's probably meant to appeal to the 75% of AIO fans who say that Wooton is their favorite character.
